May 11, 1994

(a) P-day! Elder (b) Rupp, Udy, Gledhill, Taylor, Browning, Dickey, Farkas + Landsaw and us went to a park and played hoops. Played for a good while.

A high school was having a party. Many girls. Kind of apostate.

(c) Taco Bell afterwards.  (d) Holcomb took off to Quakertown for a baptism interview tonight. I am with Elder Brooks again much like Pottstown.

I made Ayeney a cake. She's Zaira's sister. It was good!

And we talk to Salonge briefly.

Did a great Member present, (e) "On the Way Home" and invited the Sepos' to prepare their daughter-in-law Missy for the 1st discussion on Monday.

(a) P-day is short for Preparation Day. It's the one day a week full-time missionaries get a "day off" from normal proselyting. We take care of necessary chores such as clothing, grocery shopping, writing letters, and so forth. We might also be able to mix in a little sightseeing, perhaps. We also were able to meet up with nearby elders for fun, such as pick up basketball.

(b) This is Elder Rupp. He was a very good dude; down to earth; fun; athletic. Everyone seemed to get along well with Elder Rupp. We never served together, but we were in the same district and would get together on our P-day.

(c) I was able to locate a Taco Bell logo circa 1994 on Google.

(d) Elder Holcomb was an excellent companion and District Leader. I have always admired him and appreciated that he was there for me in my time of need as a missionary.

(e) On the Way Home is a video that was introduced by L. Tom Perry and prepared for showing at open houses throughout the Church.

Summary:
Through the influence of a friend, a family finds that the gospel of Jesus Christ can help them improve their relationships, resist temptations, and answer questions posed by the loss of a family member.
