20 YEARS OLD! Today I gave my talk in church on developing talents; faith; to be wise stewards of ourselves. After church, the Hinsdales sang "Happy Birthday" to me and gave me a nice, delicious cake. Elder Powell sang to me this morning. The Candells invited us over for lunch after church. Powell made some phone contacts and we headed to their house for pork chops and scripture reading + lots of laughs with Bill + Pinky Candell, etc. They're gonna loan us their camcorder to make a X-mas video for our families + take me to Philly.
Tonight we set up for the Fireside. Sis. Linzey baked us cookies and we dropped a piece of cake off at her house for her son Joey.
Pres. + Sis. Morley came down to speak tonight. Was not well attended unfortunately, but what a great talk!
Sis. Morley had every sing "Happy Birthday" and all. Very embarrassing.
Pres. Morley spoke about life's sequences and really strengthened my testimony and how grateful I am to be on a mission and prepare for a Temple marriage. We sang "Families Can Be Together Forever" to close and there were many tears shed at the close of a beautiful meeting. The Walkers made a nice card for me! How nice!
At the end of my teenage years and now into my twenties. How weird. I am somewhat excited. I love my mission and pray that I will "change" as Sis. Morley mentioned in her talk tonight. I want to and will succeed.
I made 12 phone contacts tonight. One man, Lenny Prickett, and I talked for 10 min. He is confused about churches and we talked about the gospel and came to agreement on many points. He will talk to his wife tonight and call us at 9pm tomorrow night. I pray we can visit him. Good bye now. I love the Lord!
