August 14, 1994

8/14 - Walkers brought us to church this morning. Found out Anita Wilson had a 6-yr. old Stacey, who died in '90 suddenly of a heart attack: sad.

I sang "A Poor Wayfaring Man ..." in Primary. Mike Adams accompanied. And Sister Becktel asked me to tell a story to her class, so I told them the Chelsey story. I really felt the Spirit very strong and cried as I blessed the Sacrament.

Matt Lewis did make the softball poster but it didn't go up because there was some confusion if the temple trip was that day. So after church in correlation we decided to keep it for next Sat after all. Good!

Made some unsuccessful phone contacts BUT! after I finished the phone rang a man star 69'd us back "miraculously" and said contrary to his first reception he would like to hear our message after all. YES! They have close LDS friends in VA and we have a Wed 6pm first disc. with him. Cool! His name is Edward Shim.

Tracted out by the Candells and talked to a girl Rose who is Mike McDermitt's friend. She told us about Mike.

A Jewish man, Charles, wanted us to come back also. We visited with Tina & Ron at the gas station over there, too, and talked for a while before BBQ at the Adams. We taught them a practice 2nd.

Came home and I talked to Erin Hinsdale on the phone about the Book of Ruth. Powell wanted to leave, so we drove out in some serious ran & lightning and visited with the Hinsdales until 9:50pm. They were asking him where he's being transferred. I guess he thinks he will be.
