Elder Rogers woke me up at 6:36am and shortly after I arose, I heard a rap on the window. Dave DeFeo was outside ready to pick us up. He came inside and we offered prayer. Then it was off to the baptism of his son, J.D. in the Atlantic Ocean over off the beaches in North Wildwood.
A nice service was held as members of the Branch Presidency and the Auxiliaries huddled together on the Beach.
Dave and J.D. entered the water just as the sun rose in the background and the ordinance was performed. It was beautiful. Very memorable.
We were invited to breakfast at their home. We spoke with Rebecca, Haley, Ian, J.D., Sacred, and Sam. J.D. was in a soccer game at the Goshen Sports Complex, so we accompanied them and while the game was on, Rebecca, Haley, Dave, Ian, and us played football. They're awesome!
My cookies from Julie arrived today. Yummy!
Denise Sheffey called up around 1pm and I talked to Mel and her for awhile. It'd been since July since we spoke. She's a sweetheart!
We drove by the Hinsdales. No one was home, so we were told by Eryn. Terri was asleep, and Danielle was tired.
So we tracted near the Neuterman's in North Cape May and at the middle of one block we noticed an old lady crash on her bike. So I ran over to her and fixed her shoelace which was caught on the pedal. She was very nice to us.
And not too long after that we answered questions and mainly I spoke to Eileen, and for a moment with her Born Again friend. That lasted over an hour. We left with Rogers giving her a Book of Mormon and a challenge to pray. All in all, it was kind of productive.
I saw Trish Neuterman and Bobbie climbing into the truck and I called over to them asking if I could use their phone. So they let me use their portable car phone. I called President Adams and told him we would be late for dinner. He talked to Trish for a second.
Rogers and I drove quickly up into Courthouse. Apparently, the Adams' BBQ had melted slightly or something, cooking the spare ribs. Dinner nevertheless, was served. Mayhem let loose afterwards with children kicking, screaming, pounding the piano and so forth. We gave Marty the List Program after dinner.
Wingett and Rogers were on the phone for awhile when we got home. Then I called the Neutermans for a ride to church tomorrow. Garner called. And (!) Elder Browning called to thank us for our hard work! Awesome. Plus, we talked. He's cool!
