Father's Day

Photobucket

Yesterday was my sixth Father's Day. When I woke up, I realized that I hadn't been by the alarm clock, a child, my wife with her daily nudging, "It's your day" (again?) or by any other means. No, magically, I was able to sleep in. Ah, yes, 8:45am. Well, 7:45 really, but I set the clock next to my bed an hour ahead. So, most of the time I stick with that until I'm out the door. So, as far as I'm concerned, a long restful sleep.

Heading downstairs, the aroma of French toast and bacon lured me to the table for a delicious breakfast.

I opened up my gifts right after breakfast.

First, a new shirt. I like the color.

Secondly, my new razor:

And, later after church, I got the cutest cards that the kids made in Primary:

At night, we met up in Livermore at LaVor and Kimberly's house with Ron and Kathi, Keith and Amy, for dessert. Ron and I took Will on a walk through town.

We got home rather late and Claire was just about in meltdown mode. Life gets really interesting when kids stay up past their bedtime. She finally, mercifully, drifted off to sleep. I guess Kari wound up doing the dishes and watching TV until who-knows-when. I ended up grabbing a drink and some popcorn and watched the NBA Finals. Then, around 10:45 or so, I was off to sleep.
