I remember the first time I started watching videos online. It was with Google Videos and I was hooked immediately. Then, a friend recommended I check out YouTube. I was like, You...who? Anyhow, I was even MORE hooked than before. For the past 2-3 years I've been to this site regularly. I've subscribed to different users and even created my own channel featuring videos that I've shot of the kids and other stuff involving myself (piano, mainly) and our family. It's linked to the right under *Alex's YouTube Page.* Check it out.
So, aside from the fun I've had doing our videos, I'm always interested in learning about what other people's favorite YouTube vids are. There are about a billion to choose from.
Anything ... I mean ANYTHING you can think of is there. That's what makes it so awesome. And the videos are easily transferrable onto places like Blogger.
I also love recommending videos that I've watched; sprayed milk out of my nose laughing at; was made to think as a result of; was shocked or saddened by; or simply learned something from.
Here are a few videos I've saved as personal favorites. Enjoy!
The Journey of the Unnecessarily Loud Man features Brandon Hardesty at his finest. He's made a name for himself because he went on to do some hilarious movie re-enactments that I'd recommend viewing as well. He got a weeklong stint on Jimmy Kimmel during Oscar season with brief re-enactments of the nominated films. Anyhow, my family and I get a kick out of this video; particularly the part with the 'Slinky.' Hilarious. Enjoy.
There is NO WAY this happened. I love the reaction of the newscaster: "Oh my goodness." She looks, (no surprise) stunned. But genuinely so. Like, "Great, my first night on the job and THIS happens." Hilarious. Wonder how the cameraman held so steady. Props to him.
Cool because I saw this when it happened. Yes, I know. I must have no life. But when this video dropped, it just kicked it to an entire new notch. LOVE the parents' reactions: "a great public speecher". Classic.
Remember "Freaks of the Industry"? This guy; this 65-year old DJ decides to freestyle. He has absolutely no rhythm. It's hilarious. Wonder if Shaq is listening?
I use a story from our Houghton-Mifflin series on a blind man who is a famous mountain climber, Eric Weienmeir. What cracks me up is how Eric is laughing at first but then he's all, "That's not funny. I've got friends." The guy with him is trying to laugh it off until that happens and then he's all clearing his throat, "Uh...yeah, that's not funny." Whoops.
Last but not least (for now) is this idiot who does "Tackle for Tickets" for a radio promotion. This 5'5" guy gets CREAMED in the end. What a hit he takes. It's almost like Ronnie Lott appears out of nowhere. Check this out. The funniest part is the radio DJ who goes, "It's like a giant chasing a troll!"
Later.
Alex
Have a great weekend.
