I'll tell you, this has been a week for the books with the heat. We're roasting. It's cooler today maybe by a fraction of an inch, but still uncomfortably hot. If it doesn't get any cooler, Kari and her mom and sister might just melt away during their 40-mile walk this weekend. Luckily it's in San Francisco where it's a cooler climate, but still.
I plan on bringing the kids to San Francisco where we might be able to see the girls walking, but we'll also have some fun checking out some places I haven't been in a long while, and Claire and Will have never been. I'm especially looking forward to Ghiradelli Square ice cream.
Summer school is a breeze. We're three weeks down and two to go. This week was Physical Science: magnets, electricity, and solids/liquids/gas. Next week is Life Science: food chains and life cycles. Monday to Thursday; 8 to 12. That explains the lazy, hazy days of summer.
The crazy? That would be our next-door neighbor who was served a 72-hour eviction notice on Tuesday night. So basically, the jig is up on our schizophrenic neighbor tomorrow night. Will he leave or won't he? Will the authorities be summoned to make sure it all goes down? Going back to at least June 20, every weekend has featured some sort of unusual (typically violent) episode of vulgar wallbanging. It has everyone on pins and needles.
PS - I've been hard at work on a daily site: http://fepaolympics.blogspot.com/ which is linked here and on the righthand column. Check it out and let me know what you think. It features just about everything you'd want to know including the day-to-day updates from the Olympic Games. USA! USA!

Glad to hear summer school is going well. I actually tutor some kiddos on Tuesday and Thursday in math. It's a nice way to make some extra money, but also not have to work full time. If nothing else, it'll help pay for my fantasy football fees/ magazines leading into the fall!
