Round About Autumn

School is in full swing and the situation this year is so cool! Claire is dismissed the same time as my students now that she's a big first grader. Every day at 2:50pm I look forward to her bringing Kari and Will to my room to hang out for a few minutes. It's something that I know isn't forever, so it's a lot fun to have that experience now.

Claire has such a great reputation at school, which is also a real blessing. She's very bright and doing well, according to her teacher. Kari enjoyed Back to School Night. The teacher had lots of questions about Claire's perfect bangs and commented on how much attention she pays to keeping things clean. She constantly washes her hands. Mommy has had a real effect on Claire, and it truly sets a great example for her classmates. And teacher!

I had the kids over with Kari after school this afternoon. Will always seems to get into things in the room. And he found a bell to play with today. It was cute. Check out the video. He was running in circles like the Town Crier! It was hilarious.

Something that is particulary special about my school is the support of the families and students who attend. When the Arts Center was constructed on the Lower Playground, a fundraiser to help cover the costs of school activities and supplies involved buying bricks that were put up during our 50th anniversary year in 2006-2007. It's an ongoing fundraiser and a few of my past classes have purchased bricks as Teacher Appreciation Week gifts. These little tributes mean the world to me and I had to post them here.

Have a great weekend!
