October 11, 1994

(1st entry in my second missionary journal.)

We got up at 5:15am and went to seminary. First time for me in years. They have it early here! After a Book of Mormon Test Review game, Sister Adams invited us over for breakfast with her family. Then we went back to church. I played piano and "preached" and Elder Steuart slept.

At 9:30am, after singing the National Anthem, we drove to Goshen Rd for service at the Patterson home where Perkins and I worked last week. Same nerdy guy was there. The roofers weren't too pleased with him. They wanted their money. I talked to one of them a bit about the church. They're both Catholic.

After service, we got home and ate. I got a frantic letter about my Ricks application from Grandma. So I talked with Pres. Morley. Then I called Bridget and asked her to call Mom. I also talked to Grandpa. Finally, in desperation, I knelt down and prayed for some help.

So, Steuart and I left to tract and we just didn't feel good about anywhere.

So when we got home, Sister Gunther called and I cleared up all the confusion. Whew! Answered my prayers.

Then we did phone contacting and ate dinner, after which we went to a phone return appointment (Ann Smith) in Wildwood. Taught a great 00 and went right into a great first with follow up on Friday! She loved us! The Spirit was strong as we explained and testified! She's great!

Then we tried a few member visits; no one home at the Atkins. Came home.

Grandma called and finally (double-whew!) I cleared everything up. Looong day. And more stress, we visit the Shims tomorrow night and transfers is tomorrow. I'd like to be here one more month and I get the feeling I will be most likely. We'll see...

Oh! And Sister Adams sent a real outrageous postcard. Emilie wrote, too!
