October 20, 1994

Today last year I left the MTC for Philadelphia and this year was perhaps the best day of my mission!

We got off to another slow start thanks to almost no miles to drive with. We tracted Woodland St. not far away and at the end closest to the Bay we walked along the Beach. The house closest to the Beach we were let in by a Born Again who was "saved."

"You're dead wrong," he told us repeatedly. I told him to take "the sheet rock" out of his eye before he took the mote out of our eyes. We left. Some other lady gave us some Born Again tracts about her church.

On my phone contacts I had the unfortunate privilege to "talk" with a Born Again. I got on her with some Talmage ("Marvelous Work & Wonder") and shut her up.

We ate lunch and decided to do a bit more tracting over on Maryland Ave. We taught an 85-year old Episcopalian and further down the street scheduled a discussion for tomorrow afternoon. And again, we taught an older lady out on her porch.

Bruce Bectel pulled up at 7pm. We talked and he offered a prayer for our discussion with Michael Neutermann and his family.

We arrived and talked for about 15 miutes, (a basic discussion 00) and from there I offered a prayer and we began the first discussion.

His wife is Trish, and his children are Angela (14), Mike (11), and Bobbie (9) and the girl was very active in our discussion.

The Joseph Smith Principle was amazing. Angie felt "the chills" and her heart beating faster. The mom felt the same way. We all bore testimony boldly of the witness from Christ that the Prophet Joseph was!

They loved the Book of Mormon and are anxious to read and pray; will come to church and baptism Sunday, and have asked to participate in all 6 discussions!!

All in all, it rates as probably the best, or top 3 first discussions of my mission, next to Missy Sepos and the Shims!

Today we taught 6 discussions and 9 for the week. Awesome! Good night!
