Dec. 25th - Merry Christmas! Rogers opened his presents this morning. Then we went to church. I played a song that Jessica W. and Hayley D. sang. And when Mike A. played his song, the papers fell and I ran up to hold them. Then, I played a song on the piano, "Oh Holy Night," which Angela Neuterman sang. I really enjoyed services. Today is the celebration of the birth of the Lord, Jesus Christ.
Sister Adams gave me two packages after church that the Whatcotts gave her. They were goodies from Holly G. and a book from Jay and Carol.
We went to visit the Buckleys and company first of all. They fed us cheese soup and ham. Plus, Don and Judy got me a very special gift: a quad (scriptures) and blue, leather, carrying case. What do you tell someone? I was flattered. Extremely.
They gave Rogers a nice planner. His parents sent him a Franklin, so he's having a tough time deciding what to do with it.
We came home and then we went to the Neutermans. I gave them the picture I owned of the Washington, DC Temple, along with a card.
They also fed us ham. Delicious! We used their karaoke machine, and also saw an NBA game: Denver Nuggets over Seattle Supersonics.
I gave Shannon a call. She was surprised. We're gonna talk tomorrow night, she said, along with Rachael and Holly. She tells me Rach was in a car accident on Saturday morning, but is OK. I sure hope so! We talked for a little bit.
Rogers called home for a couple hours. His buddy on a mission in Australia left messages on his machine, but that's all.
I talked to Don W. at Robert Love's party. I also spoke to Robert Love, James (from "Amahl") as well as Chris Dover. It was real nice to do so.
And I also spoke to sweet Chelsea, and her mother, Nora. They are very sweet! And I truly love Chelsea.
I gave Porter the week's work and then go to sleep very tired.
This Christmas I want to leave my testimony with you. As I have read and have been reading the Book of Mormon, the stories, and the testimonies of valiant Cpt. Moroni and Helaman with his valiant, stripling warriors have really built up my own strength and testimony against Satan. I love the Book of Mormon, and the Prophet, Joseph Smith! I love the church and its leaders. As much as I try to repent, I know I need to be more sincere and humble, although the Lord does hear and answer my prayers. I love being on a mission. I love Cape May. And love the companionship and light of the Holy Ghost that fills my soul with love. And I'm thankful for the eternal, atoning sacrifice of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
