Dec. 5th - We dropped in at Ron and Tina's shop at Citgo on Hwy 47. They are sweet friends of mine.
Afterwards, we called Don and Judy and drove to their home. There we weren't able to meet with Judy's friend, but we did teach Don a memorable second discussion. I killed a fly by slamming Rogers' discussions closed quickly. Dead fly! And ... Judy really felt the Holy Ghost inside of her yesterday so she has decided to come back to church now! They are fantastic people!
We had a nice chicken dinner at the Hinsdales tonight. Terri offered to buy us groceries. How considerate.
So we left momentarily to visit the Neutermans with the Becktels. I left mid-way through the discussion with Rogers to make phone contacts. The discussion ended around 9pm. Michael was present tonight. He was glad to be home with his family. They bought for me a very nice Walkman. I am flattered. They are my best friends in this mission. I love them dearly and will miss them when I leave.
We dropped by the Hinsdales afterwards. They'd bought many groceries. Wonderful!
And tonight I briefly talked to Chels. She got the potpourri today. Cool! And I spoke with Garner.
Elder Johnson (AP) called to mention a mission activity tomorrow morning as a result of the Christmas Message from Pres. Hinckley last night. We are to think about the Savior (from 10:15am-11:15am) and what He has done for us.
Rogers was extremely upset. His folks called angry about his calling card bill. He was crying and shouting about being on a mission. I wonder what he's going to do.
I got a $25 check from Pres. Cutt, and letters from Mary, Dad, and Mom, plus a box of oranges from (Swiss Colony) Grandma T. Dad sent me a real nice knife in apology for not writing so much. But he's been ill with a very dangerous E. coli infection from unclean meat. He's OK now. Good night.
