January 1, 1995

Jan. 1st - No better way to begin the new year than by attending church. I played piano in Primary and sat in on the end of Sunday School. Gospel Doctrine is a study of the New Testament this year. We watched a movie about Jesus Christ raising Jairus' daughter from the dead. The Spirit was very strong. Reminded me to learn more about Him. I am now at 3 Nephi 11 in my Book of Mormon reading.

We missed the Neutermans and Judy at church today. But Rogers met a Coast Guard recruit whose girlfriend is LDS from Phoenix, AZ. And he wants us to teach him next week and has thought about baptism a lot. That's quite a blessing!

We dropped off the Carlson's Christmas tree and came home and relaxed until our dinner appointment with the Linzey family. We had a pork chop dish.  Very good. And ice cream dessert with our usual conversation about girls and dating.

Tonight, I listened in on the NCAA Orange Bowl. Nebraska defeated Miami in FL for the National Championship, 24-17.

My cold is disappearing quickly. I feel much better. I felt even better after talking with Trish. They had relatives up from Virginia for New Year's, so they didn't come to church. They should next week. We scheduled our appointments with them this week. Good night!
