February 14, 1995

Feb. 14th - Happy Valentine's Day! We ate lunch at Burger King today. And after lunch as I was putting my coat on, a woman noticed that my name tag had fallen. I thanked her as I retrieved it and put it on. She asked what it meant. I told her. Then she asked what our church was about. Elder Garlick and I gave her the first discussion, and she was loving it! "Every member of your church seems so at peace with themselves ... I see your commercials ... they are so relaxing ... I am hungering for a church."

Apparently we'd taught her husband; the man in the garage smoking a cigarette in the Channing Cross apartments. They are now moving to Kennesaw, GA. So we invited her to have the missionaries visit her at her new home in GA. She committed! And we offered to bring her a video this weekend. That was such a cool experience. And she had a little boy Billy with her, too.

This afternoon we headed back to the trailer park and visited some homes. One Born Again lady gave us a hard time. I told her where to go. I imagine I shouldn't have.

And we had service at the YMCA today. The General Director was greeting people. Today was Member Appreciation Day. His name was Gene. He gave us 3 free passes. The children colored E. Garlick and I pictures.

We went over to the Clay's for dinner tonight: stir fry. Bob and Niki were over. We played ping pong with Bob and invited him to the Open House. Bro. and Sis. Clay were glad to hear that!
