Feb. 17th - R R R R I I I I N N G G. 5:45 AM. We got up and changed for seminary to deliver Garlick's coat, etc. to Sister Dunlop. But today (which was gorgeous) was a "snow day." So there was no seminary.
We came home and studied the Effectual Door sheet and Scripture Chain. After almost two hours, we were dog tired. So we collapsed until we left around 9 or so to Graeme's shop. I printed programs for District Dev. Meeting. We laughed and had a good time over there.
Then we had a great District Meeting. E. Olson played the piano. I was chorister. The ZL's (Gillespie / Gilstrap) taught confirmation as part of the Effectual Door.
Sister Larson conducted a game on the Mission Pyramid.
E. Mooy closed the meeting with a prayer offered in Dutch. Awesome!
We went back by Graeme's to give the church key back and then dropped off Garlick's belongings to Sister Dunlop.
And from there to McD's or the other way around ... no that was right. Well, anyhow, we ate lunch at McD's and Nikki Kehoe says she will be up at church on Sunday. Sweet.
We went to tract at the Trailer Park after lunch and on E. Olson's first door approach, we taught Julio, a 74-yr. old Born Again Christian. He put his hands on our shoulders and tried to give us the Holy Ghost at one point. Well, we did manage to teach him. It took about an hour. We ran out of Book of Mormons, so we came home. Grandma sent me some funky shoes. Psycho!
So we went to drop my film off at a one-hour photo place and we went tracting and this time we talked to a very attractive young lady, Erica, and gave her a Book of Mormon. But we agreed (E. Olson & I) that she wasn't much interested in the Book.
Then we headed to George's home. His lady friend Alice was with him. We were able to go over and testify again a very powerful first discussion. They both are reading now. And both will come to church next Sunday along with the Open House. They love the Lord! It was so neat to teach them. Their apartment is so small, but they seem so content. I do love them.
We drove to the home of Chris & Kim Hopkins and ate a delicious Chinese dinner with them. Sis. Hopkins is working with the Laurels on the Open House!
Then we drove to Joe Horner's. He's having a tough time with smoking. He'll be at church on Sunday. He's trying.
And then we picked up my film and headed to the Olson's home. I asked Brian if he would bring us to Today's Man tomorrow so I could pick up my new suits! And they also told us we'd have dinner with them tomorrow. So, now we have 2 member appointments ... one with the Lutz's, too.
After the Olson home, E. Olson tried to callback former contacts. He set up one appointment for tomorrow! We are just digging in here!! I am so pumped!! We are constantly busy!! And I did the District #'s tonight. Plus, Scharnhorst called about a phone bill. We have 7 AWDC so far this week. It is so exciting! Good night!
