Wonderful interviews today. We rehearsed for mission conference and the message from Pres. Brown was that Father in Heaven has elect people who He will promise to His Son for us to bring to Him.
And Pres. Morley asked for what we would consider to be our challenges and strengths.
Fear of teaching was suggested as a challenge, by E. Mooy. And then Pres. Morley counseled us to memorize our lessons and go into the homes of the investigators without our discussion books. That the Holy Ghost would give us in the very moment what to say.
And I talked very openly about my need for repentance, the Lansdale elders, and my area, with Pres. Morley who tells me that he has seen me grow. We love each other. He is my friend. Best interview ever.
Tonight, we ate dinner with the Roach family. Always, a very "family" atmosphere there. Bros and sisters fighting.
And then, tonight was the best 2nd discussion I've taught on my mission. We found Dory's home and she was dressed very nicely. She commented on all that she read, and how her experience with praying went. And E. Olson and I began teaching the next discussion with our scriptures and flipcharts. Again, before we began "... I'm not going to change." Fair enough.
But, the Holy Ghost spoke every word tonight, because we are having a challenge trying to recollect the words which we spoke tonight. The Spirit was present and we truly spoke with the tongue of angels. She accepted the challenge to pray about baptism. And she offered a beautiful closing prayer, we arranged to meet next Monday and she was practically begging for homework from the Book of Mormon. How exciting! I know my sins are forgiven. I know the church is true! What a great blessing tonight!
And Happy 15th, Leslie!
