Apr. 11th - We drove to Warrington and were able to teach a Media Referral, William Ganges. He was an older, black man. We taught him in his stairwell. The discussion was OK. We taught a powerful discussion, even in cramped quarters. His grandson poked his head around the corner at one point and tried to tell us Moses was black, and that we should check ourselves before we preached. I appreciated his concern, but the Lord or His servants cannot apologize for the words or testimonies they share. William offered a closing prayer.
This afternoon, we tracted out by Rte. 202. And we then had service at YMCA. My clothes were in, that I ordered. We played whiffle ball in the gym. Fun.
Tonight, we ate a cheesesteak stromboli with Brett and Chrissy Smith. They are sweet, and the bitter feelings I had from the Progressive Dinner left quickly as pleasantries were exchanged. They are nice folks. Elder Taylor committed them to pray for missionary experiences.
After dinner we went to the home of Nancy Feely, and escorted her to Sharon Herries home. What a fantastic discussion we had. Nancy is very sincere, and sweet. She needs friends. She is excited to read the Book of Mormon. And even wants to come to church. I was on cloud 9 afterwards. She is very sweet! And Sharon seemed to enjoy the discussion. Nancy gave the closing prayer. Excellent!
We visited the Camp's briefly on the way home. Just the children were home, so I played some Primary songs. We had a prayer, and then came home.
I spoke with Brother Bailey for awhile about the work and everything. He said he'd call a few people about splits this week.
And Chelsea called. i was surprised and delighted to hear from her. She is such a sweetheart to me. I love her. We talked for awhile.
I am now in Helaman 6. And I am plowing through the Old Testament. I love the scriptures and the stories within. My testimony and love of them grows every time I read.
And I listed to L. Tom Perry and cried and cried as I reflected on my mission experience and the highs and lows so far of my mission and ended the talk with strong feelings of bravery and courage for the last little bit of my mission remaining. Good night!
