April 20th - Holly and Rachael wrote very nice letters to me today.
More and more, I feel like I am serving with lil' Elder Jagerson again. Taylor is so much like him. He worries about spending time with members, etc. Like Sister Roach asked us if we could help her move furniture, and it really bothered him that I said we could. I think that he feels he has something to prove to me. I love him, and tell him that. He is learning a lesson in humility, that's for sure. He came here as a Zone Leader. We have a very mutual work routine, but he respects my decisions, too; most of the time I really have to make a case to win. Less stress!
We tracted in a development today. A police sgt. took our names and I.D. in case while we contacted. Bad neighborhood?
YMCA this afternoon was fun. A young girl Jackie, and her twin sister, Leann, and I played whiffle ball. Jackie threw the bat and hit my head when she got out. I was calm as a dove. (Ouch!) Amazing.
Tonight, we ate at the Ahrens. We talked about the tragedy in Oklahoma City, OK. On April 19th, a terrorist group blew up a 9-story Federal Building in Downtown Oklahoma City, killing over 40 people and 30 were unaccounted for. "The worst terrorist attack in U.S. history." Very angry people. I was very upset and angered towards the guilty party when I saw the article. What a heartbreaking tragedy.
Brother Larsen and Elder Taylor went to home teach Lillian Gucken. Nancy wasn't home, but we rescheduled for Sunday, plus she's coming to the Ward Activity tomorrow night.
Brother Bailey and I tried to visit Bob Stokly, Rose Decker, and Steve Francesconi. No one home. So we talked to workers at the Family History Center. I got some Adoption Research Info. for Jan, the woman next dor to us, who was adopted as a child. Her parents records were destroyed by fire in Louisiana. But, she called to say 'Thank you,' tonight, and I hope she feels the Spirit of Elijah soon.
And the father of Jeff Manning called tonight about arranging to meet on Monday morning. Jeff is 18; the oldest of 13 children. Wow! Sounds like a cool guy. Good night!
