April 27th - We decided to go tract out near a media referral near the area called Furlong. The neighborhood was expansive as well as expensive and full of colorful and harmonious birds dancing on the trees, enjoying the hot and beautiful Spring day. Nobody home.
I turned my shoes in to be resoled, and as it turns out, reheeled, as well. $28.50.
Service today at the YMCA. We saw Sister Hoopes and Hopkins with their children at the Y. Not many children today. Beautiful day.
I talked to an older man who was walking his dog, Wavel, around the park. We got to talking about the church. He's very impressed with the LDS Church and its historical value: He's visited SLC a couple of times, as well as Nauvoo.
Tonight, Nancy didn't go through. She canceled. So Brother Warden and E. Taylor visited the Bradys. And had a great time visiting there.
Oh - I almost forgot. We ate dinner with the Clay's and afterwards we went over there 10 Steps and got to talkin' about their new neighbors. So we'll see what happens!
Meanwhile, I went to visit Lloyd Kinzel tonight with Mike Larsen. There we had a great gospel conversation.
On the ride home, Mike says to me, "Are your days numbered here?" I said they probably are.
"I must be jealous, Elder, but I wish you could fill out your mission here. You may be solely responsible as to why Chris came on his mission."
Talk about looking for a crack to hide under. Very humbling. I asked if he would mind a visit in the future. He said he'd love it. Sooo ... I'll have to remember that. Good night.
Oh - the District. Well ... Sister Boyter goes home next transfers. She's kind of stressing getting her awards. I asked her to relax and work for the Father and let him produce blessings. If you work for an award, you'll get your "award." I have been on my mission for 20 months just about and have received a Standard of Excellence once. I don't feel like a failure. No way! So I hope she's going to enjoy the work these next few days. I'll pray for her. And I found out that Vietnamese Elders are moving in to Telford for 2 months as of May. Wow.
