A little background here. My final Missionary Journal was "missing" until this morning when I did a little clean up job on my personal belongings and FOUND IT! So, I can return to the final weeks of the mission here until my final day!
Aug. 7th - Back to work. We attended the funeral service for Sister Flora Brunhammer, 81, at the church. She died a faithful member of the church.
This afternoon, we taught Dee, a single mom of 4 children. She seemed real interested to receive the B of Mormon. So we taught her and will give her a call on Thursday or Friday.
We also taught part of a first disc. to Kevin Dippitter, who lives a few blocks out of our area: media referral. A salesman or someone stopped by in the beginning, so we left earl with plans on returning tomorrow at the same time.
Tonight we ate dinner with Karen Lemon and her boys. Nice family. I read the "Bridge," inspirational story after a filling chicken dinner.
We tried visiting many media referrals tonight. No luck. But we did meet Mike Roberts, a stopback, in Prospect Park.
And we talked to Dolores. She had some money stolen today by a musician in one of the bands she is a promoter for. On top of everything else in her life, that really sucks. She had a few things to say - not much. She's depressed.
We also visited John + Gail Roberts and arranged to play tennis on Thursday morning. Their home was toilet-papered on Sunday night by young men in the Valley Forge Ward. Too bad. John wasn't too happy.
I called Maryanne. The friend of Dolores who is interested to get together. 2 of her close friends died recently, so she's kind of in a daze. Nice lady.
