January 15, 1995

Jan. 15th - Today is my 16 month mark. I really enjoyed church today. I played music on the piano before church. The Primary Pres., Sister Clay, asked me if I could play for Primary and E. Garlick to prepare sharing time for next Sunday.

We had Missionary Correlation after church. Then, we drove to the Bailey's for lunch. Bro. Bailey is the Ward Mission Leader. He's real cool. His wife is gorgeous. And his daughter, Ronda, is the girl Elder Haddock was writing to in Pottstown.

We talked about the workshop in Valley Forge tonight after lunch and the possibility of doing that here. So we drove to the Sisters at 4:45pm and they drove us down to the Valley Forge Ward. We stopped at a gas station and I asked a lady for directions mentioning "the Church of Jesus Christ..."

We found the church, and Sister Kirkandall and Higlee ran the 00/commitment pattern member missionary workshop.

I even saw Bill & Sherry Knight down from Pottstown.

So, when the group split up to role play, I heard the foyer's phone ring. A woman called asking for counseling. Apprehensively I decided to help her. We went over the 00 and 1st disc. and built quite a friendship for about an hour that we were on the phone.

And, as it turned out, she was the very same lady I met at the gas station asking for directions!!

So ... we came home. (Oh - that lady has a Wed. appointment with the Norristown elders, too!) I guess the Redneck jokes I was reciting got the best of Sister Larsen. She cried.

So ... they were rude to me. Oh ... Sister Boyter called at 10:30pm to tell me how upset she was. They thought I was mean for telling the jokes. They really like me, but not teasing them. Believe me, I will no longer. They both totally support me, they said. I hope so. I love them.

Rachael called tonight. We talked for a bit. I guess she was bored. Finally, real late at night ... I crashed. I have to get up early to do numbers.

Oh - and Garlick tells me Ronda was staring at me? Whatever. I asked Bro. Bailey to record the SF / Dallas game. 38-28, SF goes to the Superbowl. And San Diego defeated Pittsburgh, 17-13. Cool!
