Jan. 19th - We had our planning session and role-played the 4th disc. for comp. study. I am now reading the D&C and am very impressed with the patience and ability that the Lord has in working with the Prophet Joseph.
We began this morning at Graeme's. Tim was there! It was so cool to see him again. He is a laugh-a-minute. He helped me put together a program and a bar graph for District Meeting.
After this humorous experience, we drove out to visit with Joe Horner. There I traded "Truth Restored" for one of his books on the church. Plus, we saw the end of the IHL All-Star Game. The West won in an overtime shootout.
From Joe's, we went to Burger King for lunch. Then we came home for our trenchcoats. Getting cold.
Well, I came to realize my comp is a quiet guy because he didn't say much of anything this afternoon. I don't mind if he doesn't. I'll just have to rechannel my thinking. I'm used to motormouth Rogers blabbing to the Neutermans. So this is all new to me.
We prayed about an area that G. had noticed on our way to Joe's: a development. So we tracted it out and met a less-active Judy Sullivan (recently divorced). She asked us to come back on Saturday.
And one other man wants a BofM, Carl Talocci. He was busy working on his apartment.
And ... we taught a 00 to a Hispanic woman, Nina. Her husband, she says, isn't too friendly. But we did leave our phone number if she was interested.
From the Development, we drove to Sister Roach's. Sister Klemmer (Rel. Soc. Presidency) was over, too. We had Domino's. I ate so much I stuff myself. Neat family. I love Sis. Roach!
Then we drove to Bro. Larsen / Bro. Warden's home. G. and Larsen went visiting some inactives that weren't too friendly.
Bro. Warden and I went over the 3rd New Member Lesson with a relatively new covert, Dawn Scheets.
When we all reunited, Larsen and I jammed "Keep the Commandments" and "Families Can Be..." with him on the sax and me on the ivories. So sweet.
I told G. how I felt about our day. Even cried. I just don't know what to say. I thought he was mad or something. He's not. We'll work it out together.
Plus, I called Joan Riggin in Norristown. She did enjoy the disc. last night with the elders there, but thought the First Vision was hard to believe.
Her husband wanted to come to church with her! And she wants to come this Sunday! I was rooting her on and giving my testimony. She can do it!
Good night!
