Mar. 25th - What a long day. What a great day! This morning E. Gilstrap prayed for three discussions.
We began our day making phone calls and arranging appointments. We then went to the wonderful home of Regina Stafford. We had a wonderful follow up visit with her. She is Christian. Her husband was home, but very tired from his work - a state trooper. E. Gilstrap shared our scriptures and testimonies to her.
We proceeded to bring a member, a young man, Jacob - to the Black's home, where we watched church videos. We stayed for an hour, and finished by watching 'Johnny Lingo.'
I was a bit hungry, so we visited a Burger King which brought back some energy.
We ran a media referral to a particular neighborhood which we also felt impressed to tract.
We tracted no more than 4 or 5 doors before we were invited into a home. We had the time enough to teach Pearl and Edna, an old mother and her daughter. The power of the Spirit in the Joseph Smith story was so strong! Edna mentioned she recognized that she felt the Spirit as she heard the story. I asked her to pray and ask God if it be true. To my amazement, she bowed her head and asked. She felt the same Spirit again. They will be visited again on Monday!
We dropped in momentarily on an investigator, Angie Bell. She was going out with family and is going to New Jersey the next day.
We were about to leave the area, but E. Gilstrap felt impressed to go back, as if were leaving someone behind. As we parked on the street behind us, Marshall Roberts came running by us. He plays football professionally in Canada (CFL). And he had questions for us, which gave us the opportunity to teach him the Joseph Smith story and the coming forth of the Book of Mormon.
And as we tracted the neighborhood, we taught yet another man, Melchizedek (!) and his wife, a first discussion. And left them with a good understanding of the Book of Mormon.
We got home to eat, but no sooner sat down, then we left to go teach an investigator - Sue Mochel, the first half of the 4th discussion.
She seemed so overwhelmed and in complete satisfaction and enjoyment as to what she heard.
We had to excuse ourselves to make yet another follow up visit with a part-member family, Bill (non-member) and Marsha Geary. Their son sat in also, named Alex
I called Pres. Brown at 10:25pm when E. Boren and E. Mooy weren't home. They called me at 10:30pm and just kind of casually apologized. It was kind of weak. So I hope to be able to find out what happened. E. Gilstrap was not happy. He's a very exact elder. I love him. I wasn't happy they came home so late, either, though, to be honest.
Apparently, E. Olson & Gillespie taught a first off of tracting, too. Cool!
