Apr 15th - Passover. Elder Rogers called to talk this morning to get a phone number for NAAG TAG. Taylor and I planned this morning. Very effective planning meeting. I am excited about our week coming up.
E. Taylor felt impressed to go tracting off of Carley Hill Road, near Dublin. And it seemed like we were teaching everyboyd. At least, ... we gave away 4 books.
One was to a Mennonite woman, who we talked to on her porch. And the last home of the block we placed a Book of Mormon with a man who said, "I just woke up to come to the door; this better be important."
I replied, "We feel this message is important,..." and proceeded to teach a first discussion. He didn't want to arrange for a follow up visit, but seemed sincere and friendly in talking to us.
I felt impressed to go to a neighboring community, and upon arriving, E. Taylor GQ'd the first man we met, Louis IA D'Amaco. He's a single fellow, anxious to talk to anyone, and he knew a great friend from his service days who was Mormon. We spoke to Lou about the church a great deal, and gave him a book, but he wasn't entirely interesting to hear the discussions.
Then, we met his next door neighbor, Mr. K, out in the garden. We also got to speaking to him a great deal. "I'm gonna convert you to being Catholic," he half-wittedly presumed out loud to us. We spoke of the apostasy and bore strong testimony to him that God speaks to living prophets today. And Mr. K felt pricked by the Spirit. He has a book and we've arranged to call him the middle of this week.
Towards the end of that wonderful block, we met Barry Epling, a member of the RLS Church. He's inactive, but he showed us his JST Bible and D&C and Book of Mormon. Real nice fellow.
And we spoke to Don and Kim, two of the folks Louis suggested we speak to before we left the neighborhood. I know the Spirit was with us and helped us avoid contention in sharing our message with these Born Again Believers. Nice folks. Not interested to learn more, though.
We drove to the Lutz's home. Nick was there. (The Italian guy we taught with Bro. Warden.) And Dennis Webster, "one of the family," came over for dinner. We ate, and then we had a discussion. He is a lil' slower than the rest, but has great friends in Al and Jen Lutz who'll really help him out in learning about the church.
Nancy Feely left a message on our machine saying she was sick and couldn't make it to our church tomorrow. It was late, so I didn't call her. Bro. Bailey said he'd pick her up tomorrow.
